There are two places you can get a burger in McCormick, at Hardee's or at the Drive Inn. It will take a little longer but it's so much better than a chain. Plenty of cheese, cooked to order and flavorful thick patties are topped with a toasted bun. If you like local, road food type establishments then you will enjoy it here. The door is usually open due to lack of air conditioning and flies are part of the experience. Little room to sit even though the diner is full of chairs. You probably share a table with a stranger, soon to be friend.

Ordered the fried chicken which is really good. Nice flakey-crunchy skin. Flavorful, moist and not greasy. It was perfect. Drinks are from bottle and not fountain drinks and dining is in form of two long tables. Not a ton of room, but very quaint. I suspect most people order take out. I was a little confused on where to park so parked on the main street and walked around the corner to the restaurant. This place has a nice simple menu of hamburgers, fried fish, chicken and a few other items. Sides are mostly french fries, onion rings, fried okra, and coleslaw. I would love to see them have a vegetable medley or green beans, or corn. Just a few more veggie choices than just the coleslaw. Potato salad would be a good choice too. But the chicken is REALLY good. I can definitely see myself coming back and ordering takeout chicken and bring it home.

I didn't get to try their famed fried chicken because I walked in after their closing time. Nevertheless they allowed us to come in and served us some very good barbecue sandwiches and fries. Very friendly and very accommodating. Can't wait to get back to try the fried chicken!

Definitely a great place for fried chicken as they've been making it for 41 years now. Just be sure to call ahead (852-2717) because they don't make it until your order. (Allow 30 minutes) Lots of other choices on the menu though like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and specials of the day. They have a few offerings for dessert like milk shakes and Apple Uglies. There isn't much room for dining inside; there is just enough room for a few tables. Most of their business seems to be pick-up and they certainly seem busy in that regard. Friendly staff. The dining area could definitely be a little cleaner. I definitely recommend calling ahead and picking up some chicken if you are in the area.

This is not a cinema, it's a restaurant and the food is amazingly good home cooking. THE best fried chicken you will ever find. Great menu - something for everyone. Small and comfortable. If you're in or passing through McCormick make sure you grab a bite to eat here.
